Telling you things the way they needed to be said

Dick Price, former coach and AD at Norfolk State, died last week after a battle with cancer.

At his funeral, 18 people took turns at the podium.

One of them, a former player, said that Coach Price "didn't tell you things the way you wanted to hear them. He told you things the way they needed to be said."

In the program for his funeral, his only daughter had written a poem. It read:

"Your eyes, they gaze upon me, that's my childhood memory...
As I look upon my children, I pray that they can also see
The gaze of my father, living deep within me."
